Ifa Yoruba
The Ifa Yoruba Contemporary Arts Trust is a charitable trust committed
to fostering the development of Yoruba arts and culture through a wide
range of educational and arts activities and promoting an awareness of
the impact of Yoruba people on the wider African Diaspora.
It is estimated that during the four centuries of the trans-atlantic movement,
millions of Africans, especially Yoruba people made the voyage from their
ancestral homeland into the New World of the Americas. Many Yorubas, sharing
common language, culture and religious beliefs arrived in Brazil, Cuba,
Trinidad and other parts of the Caribbean and South America.
The Trust intends to celebrate the contemporary Arts of the Yorubas and
to extend its work to encompass cultural diversity and international perspectives
in contemporary arts practise.
