The process of creating Sub Vision has been a voyage of discovery and a sharing of our own inner vision. It has been said that sight is the most judgmental of all the senses. This judgement can block out our ability to see the intrinsic beauty of a movement or a colour.
Sub Vision is a journey through colour in the mind's eye of a blind person. The performance develops the central philosophy of Eye Contact - the idea of making dance engaging to performers and audiences irrespective of sight. With Sub Vision the company use music, dance, poetry and stories, as well as senses not normally associated with the enjoyment of dance, such as smell and touch, to communicate their journey through colour.
