I constructed Triptych as a series of kinaesthetic, auditory and visual movements, multi sensory paintings if you like, each with atmosphere's that could evoke, or provoke. In the same way one might approach contemporary art we can become interested in the stillness of dance as well as its movement. I am disturbed by the growing trend to narrow down human experience, where our desires and interests become synonymous with empty products and brands. A warm family experience is a Mc' Donald's, a father baby conversation belongs to BT and running across a landscape is a Nike shoe. The lives we are encouraged to aspire to be those of celebrity's, yet such dreams and aspirations will ultimately destroy our sense of self. |
