Naomi Mutoh - Dancer

Naomi is an established dancer of the Butoh new generation. She was born in Japan, where she trained under Tetsuro Fukuhara and Yoko Ashikawa. Her background includes a Degree in Fine Arts and work as a service maiden at a Shinto shrine (Izumo Taisha). Performance experience includes; working with Tetsuro Fukuhara and the group Bodhi-Sattva, and her work with Adel Hakim and Sumako Koseki in Paris. Currently Naomi is a performer with Carlotta Ikeda's company base in Marseille. Naomi was involved in Isabel Jones' Butoh Dance research project in 1995/6 and worked closely with her to produce choreography for Salamanda Tandem performances 'House is My Reflection' and 'Light House'.
